1. Initial Evaluation & Diagnosis
Medical history review (menstrual cycle, past pregnancies, lifestyle)
Physical exams
Hormone testing (FSH, LH, AMH, prolactin, thyroid, etc.)
Ultrasound (to assess ovaries, uterus, follicles)
Hysterosalpingography (HSG) – checks for blocked fallopian tubes
Semen analysis for male fertility
Genetic testing if necessary
2. Ovulation Induction & Hormonal Therapy
Used when ovulation is irregular or absent:
Clomiphene citrate (Clomid)
Letrozole (Femara)
Gonadotropin injections (FSH, HMG)
hCG trigger shots to release eggs
Progesterone supplements to support early pregnancy
3. Intrauterine Insemination (IUI)
Process where washed and concentrated sperm is inserted directly into the uterus during ovulation.
Often combined with fertility medications.
Typically used for mild male infertility or unexplained infertility.
4. In Vitro Fertilization (IVF)
Eggs are retrieved from the ovaries.
Fertilized with sperm in a lab.
One or more embryos are transferred into the uterus.
May include:
ICSI (intracytoplasmic sperm injection) for male factor
Embryo freezing
PGT (preimplantation genetic testing)
